This is a program of study for candidates seeking the New York State certification to teach health education and physical education, to coach, or to seek employment in adventure education, sports, as well as community health and wellness careers. Students will be taught a range of methods by which health promotion can be achieved. In particular, this program emphasizes adventure education which involves structured learning exercises characterized by perceived risk or challenge (including low and high ropes courses) and reflection. Please note that the Teacher Education track requires moderate physical activity including running, jumping, climbing, and tumbling.
