Sociology is the study of the the interrelationship between the individual and society. Sociologists study identities such as race, class, and gender, as well as social institutions like the criminal justice system, the labor force, education, religion, and the family. This minor is designed to help students understand diversity and stratification within the social world, which will improve the career opportunities of students majoring in areas that deal with people, such as health studies, criminal justice, and psychology.
