Health Care Administration (M.H.A.)


The Health Care Administration program offers a relevant, comprehensive education for current and aspiring healthcare administrators. The MHA program focuses on the fundamental business knowledge and skills today’s healthcare leaders need to succeed in this rapidly changing industry. Students in the program will acquire a variety of essential skills, such as how successful and efficient healthcare systems are created, how to interpret, use, and produce meaningful data for data-driven decision-making, how to interpret and use financial and accounting information, and how to analyze the legal and ethical issues that are unique to the healthcare industry. 

The eight-week online format allows students to pace their plan of study to their personal and professional lives. A typical student who takes three credits per eight-week session can complete the program in two years. 

Student Learning Goals

Students who successfully complete this program will be able to:

  • Create a personal framework for leadership in business with a specific focus on the health care industry.
  • Propose solutions to health care business and care delivery problems using systems thinking.
  • Interpret quantitative and qualitative data to solve health care business and care delivery problems.
  • Select data analysis and visualization techniques in order to effectively communicate to various stakeholders.  
  • Assess stakeholder interests in competitive and collaborative health care initiatives.  
  • Devise a project management plan using accepted project management design, development, and evaluation strategies.
