The Health Care Administration program offers a relevant, comprehensive education for current and aspiring healthcare administrators. The MHA program focuses on the fundamental business knowledge and skills today’s healthcare leaders need to succeed in this rapidly changing industry. Students in the program will acquire a variety of essential skills, such as how successful and efficient healthcare systems are created, how to interpret, use, and produce meaningful data for data-driven decision-making, how to interpret and use financial and accounting information, and how to analyze the legal and ethical issues that are unique to the healthcare industry.
The eight-week online format allows students to pace their plan of study to their personal and professional lives. A typical student who takes three credits per eight-week session can complete the program in two years.
Student Learning Goals
Students who successfully complete this program will be able to:
- Leadership - Appraise leadership attributes in professional work and academic forums.
- Systems Thinking - Interpret systems thinking application in personal, team, and health care organization settings.
- Best Practice Applied Research - Evaluate and explain best practices in critical thinking application and creativity in guiding applied research in healthcare organizations.
- Project Management - Generate a project management plan that demonstrates knowledge of project management design, development, and evaluation strategies and designs.
- Stakeholder Interests - Assess stakeholder interests in competitive and collaborative health care initiatives.

Note:
Advanced Seminar Policy: there must be no longer than one year between when a student completes HCA 612 Advanced Seminar and enrolls in HCA 675 Capstone. If one year or longer has elapsed since taking HCA 612 Advanced Seminar, students will need to retake HCA 612 Advanced Seminar at their own expense.
