LIT 358 - Postcolonial Literatures (3)Literature depicting experiences with colonialism and imperialism written by authors from formerly colonized nations. This course offers an opportunity to study the central concepts, questions, and debates in postcolonial studies in order to understand postcolonial and anticolonial literature as both literary genres and historical markers. We will examine literary forms and techniques alongside the depictions of nationalism, migration, and identity categories (including, but not limited to race, ethnicity, and gender) as we seek to understand the relationships between individuals and colonial power structures as they are depicted in literature.
