HIS 128 - Drugs in American History (3)This course examines the history of the United States with a focus on the nation’s complicated relationship with psychoactive substances. The course will examine political, social, and economic aspects of a range of ‘drug’ substances including: alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, coca, opium, cannabis, psychedelics, pharmaceuticals and more, and their role in shaping the history of the United States.
